YHM Carbine Handguards

The look and feel of this product is stellar!  I originally had a quad rail on my AR15, but never used it to mount accessories, and found it to be too bulky.  I was attracted to the YHM product as it has a clean look and feel without rails installed, but still allows me to place rails (even at 45 degree angles) only where I need them.

I did have two issues installing these.  1st, I do not have the delta ring tool tool, so pulling back the delta ring far enough to slide in the new gaurds was very difficult.....if you're gong to install these, do yourself a huge favor and buy the delta ring tool.  2nd...I was going to install the full length picatinny rail on the top of the handguard, but found that the rearmost screw would not seat all the way down, as it was hitting the gas tube....this screw would need to be ground down so that it does not cause issues with the gas tube.  While the top rail was on the handguard, I was happy to see that it does sit at the same level as the picatinny rail on the upper receiver.

Overall, I'm very happy with this product....it looks great....has a lot of open area for ventilation, and is very flexible with picatinny rail placement.
