The most interesting part...especially after shooting paper for so long...recoil is a non-issue with trap....you don't focus on it, brace for it, fear it....you just wait for that damn pigeon to go flying so you can blast it. And when you nail it....damn it feels good! Recoil....wait.....I don't remember it.....but when i was trying to shoot a target with the same gun earlier, it was brutal. Focus changes everything I suppose.
So I'm on the market now for a 12ga gun for trap shooting....something affordable, and fun. Looking forward to doing it again!
My take away point for you is, to try an aspect of shooting that you haven't tried to date....it may surprise you!
